As we return to Barichara, we were invited to visit my fathers childhood home. The look on the faces of his siblings as they entered and experienced so many things that were similar to decades ago were lovely. We continued to view the town, the park named in my uncle’s honor, the little drug store my grandfather owned and supported his family with, the house and the local flavor. The chapel, where my father was baptized, still projects all services over an intercom for the city to hear.

Susan traveled back to Colombia last week to take a short journey to her father’s hometown in the Santander region of Colombia. It was a very special trip, with her father and his 3 sisters that had decided to reunite together for several days. It had been over 40 years since they had all traveled back to their roots.
From Bogota, the town of Barichara was 8 hours away, traveling through small towns, immersed in Spanish and culture, eating at great local stands and experiencing the beauty of the Santander region. The stories of childhood and the sound of 4 siblings was muy chevere as they say!

We always have fun when the Hamilton Beach Boys come to the studio… These guys are great! We were tasting our strawberry smoothie made of Dream Whip. Delicious.
